What was his best film?

I haven't seen a lot of his films, but I thin his best film is The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964). What about you?

reply

I really like him in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken

reply

Those two are probably his best. I also liked The Reluctant Astronaut.

reply

The Love God was a good one that hardly ever shows up on TV. Not even sure if its been released on DVD... but it was quite funny.

reply

I bought The Love God today at Wal Mart as part of a set of Don Knott movies. There are five movies on three DVDs in the collection -- The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Reluctant Astronaut, The Shakiest Gun in the West, The Love God, and How to Frame a Figg.

reply

I donโ€™t know the Love God, but the others are a great collection.

reply

I agree, and it's an amazing price -- just $12.00 for five movies!

Ghost and Mr. Chicken

reply

No love for The Apple Dumpling Gang?

reply

God, I remember that at the theater when I was like 8! I think my older brother got stuck taking me to that one. I remember liking it, but never saw it again.

reply

THE PRIVATE EYES.

DON KNOTTS WASNT IN THE GHOST COCK...HE WASNT EVEN BLACK.

The Incredible Mr. Limpet is my favorite. But, I also like the Shakiest Gun in the West. Then The Ghost and Mr Chicken and The Reluctant Astronaut.

reply

The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964) is my favorite for sure. I watched it many times as a kid and have it on DVD now.

reply

That was my sister's favorite. I remember the scene where his wife asks, "Am I the wife of a fish or the widow of a man?"

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken is one of my favorites. Saw it when I was a kid and it was just so "scary"! Well for kids it was. lol

My other favorite is The Reluctant Astronaut. That one had such a great supporting cast of character actors.

reply

I do remember The Ghost and Mr Chicken also because the bloody piano keys used to scare me too!

reply

Yes, a spooky scene.

The blood on the keys wouldn't wash off.
I remember that cute little old lady saying, "And we even used Bon Ami."

I had no idea what she was talking about when I was a kid. My mom always used Comet cleanser. Never heard of Bon Ami!

reply

My mom used Bon Ami. I think it is supposed to scratch less than Comet.

reply

My favorite was the Oscar winning Nip it in the Bud!
