Not Funny

Least funny SNL cast in a very weak SNL group.

His bank account says he's very funny.

What does yours say?

That is possibly the dumbest argument I have ever heard. There are an awful lot of rich people who have no talent and an equal number of incredibly talented people who don't have money. He just isn't funny.

It's only "dumb" b/c you can't argue with it. He does get paid to be funny. And he gets paid well. Which means someone feels he's good enough to write him checks for it.

Money isn't subjective. Comedy is.

His bank account says he's funny. What does yours say? (I notice you ignored this last time).

Wow. I agree he sucks. Loran Michael's has paid a lot of unfunny hacks over the years and Taran is one of them. Also, nobody needs to tell you how their bank account is and you asking proves you don't know what you are talking about. Hopefully SNL will get some better cast soon.

reply

If he had a scrap of talent he wouldn't be doing SNL any more. By the way, my bank account is doing great. Dumb argument by the way.

I agree that nobody needs to tell me what they make. Honestly, that line was tongue in cheek. I thought most functioning adults would pick up on that. I guess not. Or maybe you just got defensive b/c your bank account isn't all that impressive. Seems weird that most of your rant was about that. I don't see how that's my fault.

However, the fact still remains that Taran gets paid to be funny. Since his bank account is probably in great shape, I'd say this is proof that he's actually pretty good at being funny. There is obviously a market for his comedy talent since he gets paid for his comedic skills.

If you don't enjoy his comedy, that is fine. To each their own. But enough people feel he is funny enough to pay him for his talents. That is not debatable.

reply

If you are paid to be funny then it most certainly is not a dumb argument.

However. you mentioning yours, assuming you do not work in comedy, is a dumb argument and completely misses the point.

reply

Your point makes no sense and if you meant your comment to be tongue in cheek you wouldn't have kept bringing it up. SNL is a starting point for young comedians and the good ones go on to do more, sometime good and sometimes not. It isn't a high paid starting point either which is why Micheals keep then so long. Also, saying getting paid means you are funny is a very dumb argument. Eddie Murphy got paid to make Norbit, Mike Myers got paid to make The Love Guru, Adam Sandler got paid to make Jack and Jill, the list goes on. To say you get paid so you are funny doesn't work. All that matters is Killam is in the bottom three of the current cast, which is the worst in years, at being funny. So is you can come up with a half way intelligent argument other than he gets paid, please do.
