why do many "disrespect" Kendrick?

It is a phenomenon, of course not just here but on all boards, why do people go to the IMDb discussion of an actor just to disrespect them?

For example just a few hours ago user 'dgirwin1' wrote, " Anna Kendrick has no charisma. Her acting has always been awful, even before she starred in Twilight. How she keeps working is a mystery. And she claims to be a Star Wars fan? Do not let this fool near a pop-culture touchstone like Star Wars. "

That is just plain mean. Why does someone do that? If you really think that negatively of any actor why visit their page, and why not just choose to NOT see any of their movies?

What kind of mental deficiency makes a person feel compelled to disrespect someone they don't even know? Now I am not a big Kendrick fan, I would never go see a movie just because she is in it, but if she is part of the cast and it is otherwise a good movie then so be it. She has chosen to be an actress, if she gets roles who are we to say she doesn't deserve to work?

Suppose 'dgirwin1' is a plumber? How appropriate would it be for some of us to go to his workplace and say "He is a terrible plumber and I don't like his attitude, please don't hire him anymore?"

Doing that would make as much sense.

It's called criticism and they are professionals. What makes you think they are above people's personal opinions and criticism

movie stars have to put up with criticism, it goes with the territory of being a public figure. so we are free to make fun of how they look, dress, talk, act, everything and they have to put up with it. they also give up their privacy in many ways with the paparazzi. it's a tough career but they get paid more than anyone and are famous so it all works out.

Nothing wrong with a little criticism if it's warranted. But I agree that some people do cross a line and get too personal from time to time. When people start going off about a person's appearance then you know they have major issues. Like who cares what a person's teeth or legs look like? They're actors not supermodels.

Completely agree with you!!

I'm still wondering why she and Emma Roberts. Are even in Movies or Tv shows. I know Emma because of her father and aunt but not sure about Anna...I sure don't see it!!!

If yours is a serious question ... there are literally thousands of young girls every year with a goal of making it in entertainment, either acting, singing, or dancing. Very few of them have the raw talent to become big stars. The two you cite, Roberts and Kendrick, don't seem to have the talent to be recognized as being among the best, but they are competent. I would imagine if you could peek into the everyday lives of the agents all these young actors employ they are probably pretty constantly making contacts with studios and casting directors to try to get their actors into something that pays. And, that is how the agent gets paid. It is a job. Why go to a doctor who only made B's in medical school when you could hunt up a busier, more expensive doctor who made straight A's? My point that there is a use for the mediocre, not all can be at the top of their profession.

I would never go see a movie just because it had Roberts or Kendrick in starring roles, I don't think they are good enough. But they are competent, and it is the job of the director to make sure they get a good performance out of them. Even mediocre actors need to work, don't you think?

for me it is, i can't stand anybody that just keeps churning out tons of garbage movies , she reminds me of a female adam sandler . her movies suck and she is awful in them , i literally awarded her a razzie for her role in mike and dave need wedding dates. the whole cast was horrible but she was the worst out of the bunch , just cringeworthy jokes one after another.it's like she wants us to think she is quirky and cool and i find it annoying and i'm tired of hollywood casting her as the "HOT GIRL" because she is average at best . before i get called a hater just looked at all the horrible movies she has crapped out lately

6.0-6.5 on imdb
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates ,pitch perfect 2 both suck as well

6.0 or below on imdb films from just the last 2 years
Get a Job
The Hollars
Into the Woods
The Last Five Years
Happy Christmas
Life After Beth

perfect comparison with adam sandler. they make worthless and annoying movies with bad and talentless humor. what really annoys me about her is her bad attitude, i'm better than you, i'm snide, and cynical in an annoying and unfunny way personality.

You seem to be under the mistaken belief that this is a fan site.

That's been a topic of conversation here for awhile. Anna's career has been in a downward trend for awhile now.

Notice too how practically all her roles in recent years she's playing the generic girlfriend or love interest of a main character? Just look at the 4 films she's had out this year so far.

The Hollars - lead character's wife
Mike & Dave - lead character's love interest
Mr. Right - lead character's love interest
Get a Job - lead character's girlfriend

That's not good. If she wants to be taken seriously as an actress, she needs to first start by avoiding these types of generic female roles. She needs to stay away from crappy low-brow comedies and start looking for more challenging roles. You don't see Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt and Emma Stone doing these kinds of garbage roles. They're all capable of doing roles where the woman is strong and independent, not the generic girlfriend or wife of a main character.

The Accountant may give her a little life if it does well. But if it flops she's in trouble. Mike & Dave bombed and everything else she's done in the last year has been direct to video. She is going to get forgotten about sooner than she thinks if she doesn't start upping the quality of her work. She has talent, no doubt about it, she just needs better guidance and find better quality roles.
