this guy isnt very visually appealing and is very unattractive, his acting ability is ok but you would think that they would cast some one better looking in the roles he plays

first time i saw him was in W. and i kept thinking 'this is the stangest little man ive ever looked at....' but top notch acting definitely Oscar worthy, though i doubt a man looking like that would ever get a big enough role for the academy to take notice.

He's certainly not what we regard as being a traditionally handsome man, but let's face it the world isn't populated stunning looking people. When you want someone to play a real person who do you call, Mickey Rourke and his face full of collagen or someone we could actually believe we could bump into on the street?
That's why Brits do so well in Hollywood, there comes a time when a real face is needed and the one's who have been under the knife since their twenties or with facefull of cow's arse have no expression left. I know a bloke who looks similar to Toby Jones, he teaches geography in our school. I think I'd have noticed if a George Clooney look-alike had his job!

Yep silly thread, hes married to a top barrister to, a powerful woman who obviously finds him a good looking guy, has a great film career which shows his so called ugly looks have not hindered him at all, of the top of my head i could name 20 "good looking" actors who have had not half his success.
