What does Billy Idol have to do with this?

Bob Iger

It was a joke.

No, he doesn't deserve all of the blame. JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy also deserve the blame as well. JJ deserves part of the blame because he was the one stupid enough to let this loser anywhere near a Star Wars movie, let alone tell him "Write whatever you want," when the prick wasn't happy with the original script JJ had shown him. Kathleen Kennedy was partially responsible for green-lighting that awful script and letting him release the film at all. So all three share the blame for this horror of a movie they released on the public.

reply

I’d say a sizable chunk of the blame should fall on him since he’s the one that actually wrote it. Then the rest of the blame should be put on KK and her crew for allowing this abomination take place.

reply

All of it. He wrote it. If he was just a hired gun director, I wouldn't blame him for anything. He perfectly executed a shitty vision.

reply

Johnson's Star Wars attempt was much better than that snorer The Force Awakens.

A good amount of the blame has go to Kathleen Kennedy. She signed off on that horrible script.

reply

And then signed him on for a trilogy before the movie was even out. That's how much she loved that trash. If that isn't the most obvious indicator that the absolute worst people are in charge of Star Wars, I don't know what is.
