Known for Raw and WrestleMania 17? Why?

Those shows have only a few thousand votes, whereas his other moves have 50-100 times as many votes. Why is he, according to IMDb, known for Raw and Mania than his big movies?

reply

This is because The Rock was a WWF/WWE wrestler before he started making movies. Professional wrestling was the hottest thing on TV when he was in it. It's what made The Rock popular in the first place and gave him those movie roles to begin with.

reply

I know, but these shows have less votes, so how do they end up in front of his movies?

reply

I have no idea but these wrestling shows are still ongoing and The Rock will forever be associated with it because of the popularity he had when he was just a wrestler. Keep in mind that he had not yet crossed over to Hollywood when he was on WWE (known as the WWF back then) RAW and WrestleMania. So his only claim to fame back then was wrestling, even to this day despite his success in Hollywood, The Rock still gets asked to come back to wrestling even though he hasn't been in it for two decades now. He does show up every once in a while and occasionally wrestles but not all the time like he did before the movie career when wrestling was extremely popular in his heyday.

They might not have that many votes, but they're both extremely popular.

CG gore is the worst thing that has ever happened to the horror genre.

This is how it works Mongo. The site picks the top four movies/shows when someone clicks on their name from the cast list. That way, you idiot, some extra in the most popular movie of all time, doesn't get associated for that movie, if they went on to do other movies in more prominent roles.

So the four most popular times someone clicked on the Rock in the cast list, include Raw and Wrestlemania 17.

reply

People don't search for WrestleMania 17 that often, don't kid yourself. It has only 1,6k votes. There has to be another reason for it.

reply

Will you stop talking about votes. You sound like a moron. Half the people who use this site don't even bother with that feature, and rating a Wrestlemania sounds like something only a retard would do anyway. It doesn't mean dick.

reply

You're putting way too much stock into IMDb votes. Raw was one of the top rated shows on cable in the late 90s.

Who says violence is not the answer?
