Needs to shut up about politics

Scarlett Johansson has a high school diploma. That's it. No college degree, no special insight into politics, no specialized knowledge of government, the economy or foreign affairs.

She probably cannot even name her own congressman.

And yet she thinks she's qualified to lecture the American public on who they should vote for, what they should think, and how they should align themselves politically.

She joins a group of fellow multimillionaires, all of them actors, in painfully condescending video PSAs to tell the plebs what to do.

The problem is that when you see these people in movies, you don't see their characters -- you see smug, smarmy one percenters who think they're better than everyone else.

I saw people a lot less educated than Scarlett (trump loves the poorly educated) trying to tell me to vote for that piece of shiat. So STFU.

reply

So Scarlett and everyone in Hollywood needs to shut up about politics. But not people like Jon Voight or James Woods when they decide to talk and tell people who to vote for?

Look I go see movies to be entertained. If I like an actor. I don't care about their political beliefs.

reply

Well. One month ago, Scarlett Johansson went to an awards dinner and stated that "a woman's right to choose was a human right." Okay. Scar Jo thinks killing an unborn is a human right. Thanks. Now, how about she goes home, take a shower, and then takes some more nude photos of herself on her phone, so someone can hack into them. Stupid twit. That's the problem with Hollywood. When it comes to anyone being so pro-choice, it's never the better talented(and when I say talented, I mean they're not Overglorified sex symbols), semi- intelligent actresses who can explain their liberal views logically. Its always the one-dimensional sexpots, like Johansson or Cameron Diazepam who spouts the most arrogant statements to make themselves seem so feminist. Please. The last time I checked, REAL feminists wanted to be appreciated for their brains, not their looks or body. Johansson can just shove it, as far as Im concerned.

This is a fair point too.

We've got a new generation of female actresses, singers and entertainers who re-define feminism arbitrarily, at will, and try to pass off any and all behavior as feminism.

When Kim Kardashian uploads her 7,467th nude selfie, she claims it's an act of feminism, because it's, like, empowering or something.

When Miley Cyrus runs around with her tongue out like a panting dog and twerks on a man more than twice her age, that's feminism because feminism.

Any and all self-serving, self-promoting behavior can and will be classified as "feminism," rendering the term meaningless. This is why the destruction of life is also justified under the umbrella of feminism and women's rights -- no one wants to think about what they're actually doing, they don't want to know the details, they just want to "terminate" their pregnancies for the sake of convenience.

Millions of abortions are committed for no other reason than the would-be mother wants to continue partying and doesn't want a child "ruining" her life. This is the point we've reached in this country.

reply

Well, maybe because even so called non-thinkers know that terminating a pregnancy has nothing to do with "killing an unborn". A person is not a person until they're in the phone book.

reply

"and BTW, a 3 month old child ain't a child, so you're not killing anything other than a bunch of congregated cells"

😝😝

"A person is not a person until they're in the phone book."

A person is a person the moment they become a human being, that happens at conception.

Someone doesn't start off as a different species before transforming into a human being later on at some point after birth.

Once the fertilization process has occurred, a new human life with his or her own unique human DNA, that only a human being can have, has in fact begun.

This isn't opinion, belief, or preference, this is basic biological fact.

To deliberately try to end the life of that person, regardless of their current size, location, or developmental stage, is the basic definition of murder.

As has already been pointed out, based on this asinine standard that you provide, a child up to the age of 16 wouldn't be considered human if they aren't in the phone book yet.

This is the type of opinion I'd expect from those that buy into and defend the garbage that these Hollywood radical liberal buffoons are regularly churning out, and that's why many people become increasingly hesitant to support artists/entertainers that can't stop running their mouths about these issues that they know so little about.
