Private Ryan, Soldiers, where?

Does anyone know where he was in Saving Private Ryan and We were Soldiers? I haven't watched them for a while and wanted to see if anyone has any hints before I re-watch them and potentially miss him again.

I haven't seen We Were Soldiers, but I watch Saving Private Ryan at least once a year. He is in the scene after they are counting the dogtags and start yelling out randomly to find Matt Damon. Ryan Hurst is the soldier who gives information about where Private Ryan was last seen, he had hearing damage and was speaking really loudly throughout his scene.

In we were soldiers he played the Sargent in the cut off platoon that almost gets wiped out. He is also the soldier that says good morning to the master sargent.

Ah, I remember the guy who says good morning to Sam Elliot, I'll have to take a look, thanks!

Husband and I are binge-watching Sons of Anarchy, as we did not watch it while it was airing on cable. Anyways, my husband is a huge fan of both war movies and is completely surprised that's him in both movies. He looks and even sounds completely different lol.

Here's a clip of him in We Were Soldiers:
