Mad Max

He was siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick in Mad Max - the character I liked the most actually!

All you people on this board who tune him seem pretty thoughtless. He is diverse and can go from a nerd to a crazy maniac (both in mad max and in days of futures past..) and this a role that seems pretty common in movies these days.

I agree, Hoult made that role into real supporting actor stuff. He took all his twitches from 'Skins and put them to good use.

reply

Yeah - while Theron and Hardy were the main actors, their main presence was in action and emotionless dialogue. He was the only one who actually had to delve deep and give a real performance

Everyone was great though :)

EDIT: That might be a bit of an exaggeration though or just plain incorrect but hey

I was a big fan of the first two seasons of 'Skins. So I like the kid.

In FR, he had his own story arc: Blind fanatical follower of Immortal Joe to redeemed hero. Theron's character was the one who talked about redemption, but it was Nux who actually achieved redemption.

Bear in mind, I'm 5' 7" and hate to praise tall guys (I am happy to praise Tom Hardy, because he's about my height). The fact that I am praising Hoult means I thought he was very good.

He was very good in Fury Road.

Coming here to post the same thing! He was my favorite character in the film. Nicholas was really able to create a very textured character from his body language. He was terrific.

reply

Yeah he was amazing in Mad Max! I think is one of his best performances so far  He went from insane nutcase to adorable hero, and made it believable.

That's an odd thing to hold against someone.

However, I agree. Hoult was the true star of the film. I loved every frame with him in it. Great actor. His body of work just keeps getting better: About a Boy, the X Men movies, Young Ones, Warm Bodies, A Single Man, and now this. Very nice.

False: all conservatives are stupid people;
True: most stupid people are conservative

He was awesome in FR. He delivered his lines perfectly.
"I want to die historically on the fury road" was probably my favorite.. or of course "What a lovely day"
