A great character actor!

Tonight, we had my nephew over and we watched an episode of Agents of Shield (you can tell who is picking out our programs!). We were super shocked to see James Hong playing one of the roles on the show. Oh my God, this guy is so prolific!! I have been watching him in movies and television shows all my life. I feel like he was in everything. I am so happy he is still acting! He's 88! Amazing! He's a terrific actor and I love seeing him in even a small role.

Featured in the classic episode of Seinfeld, The Chinese Restaurant.

It always makes me laugh when I think of him paging George Costanza by calling out, "Cartwright, Cartwright!"

James Hong appeared in a few early episodes of Bonanza as Hop Sing's cousin. I wondered if the Cartwright thing was his idea or just a coincidence.

Wow! What a memory you have! I love that episode of Seinfeld and that joke is the best. So funny! I like your theory and I think I'll spread that rumor among my friends. I would like to think it was Hong's idea.

Isn't Hop Sing's the restaurant Elaine's commie boyfriend gets blacklisted from?

I understand that he owns about half of the real estate in Hollywood. Heā€™s made a lot of investments. He was also great in Big Trouble In Little China. Apparently he acts because he likes it. He doesnā€™t need the money.
