Something I see discussed a lot. (LOST characters)

While I like Josh Holloway's character more (Sawyer), I do not think that he's a better actor than Matthew Fox (Jack Shepard). That was something that was debated a lot back in the day amongst friends, and seeing his picture reminded me of it.

I enjoyed his character more on LOST, but Matthew Fox is clearly the superior actor.

I am you and what I see is me.

I actually agree, Sawyer was the better character, Fox was a better actor.

In my opinion, both of them are talented actors, but I prefer Josh because he's more charismatic.

Better ...well that depends on the script and delivery because Saywer's lines got him attention at first but then you began to 'see' what he was thinking and ,that, IMO makes a great actor.
Matthew Fox played a pretty run of the mill one dimensional character for a long time ..until maybe that last episode..just sayin'

I know what you mean about seeing what Sawyer was thinking. It's hard to sympathise with a character who is being mean but you can tell that Sawyer had self loathing in the Exodus episode when the policeman read out Sawyer's list of crimes.

Of course!
Like most people who bully, tease and humiliate others (!) , it stems from self loathing and the expectation not to be liked for themselves.
I loved the nuances in his acting, matched by Hugo and Ben IMO, especially when Kate showed up years later when he was Juliet and also how he kept his pride when he thought she really loved Jack. He was not used to showing his real feelings but they flickered across his face and then he went back to being brash.

Finally as he grew in character , his remorse at losing some of his companions at the end was more than anyone else showed.
Yep, Josh done good !

Yes, the nuances are brilliant. Sawyer always seemed very upset at the funerals of the islanders.

Josh's acting of Sawyer made it believable when he became LaFleur. It seemed like that was the role James had been searching for since he was a child. At last, a woman wanted to live with him and they could be domesticated. Just for a while anyway!
