I understand your venting. It's too bad that we can't seem to move beyond the physical attributes to discover what lies beneath. In Tom's case, his gift of acting.

I think Tom is very attractive, to me his height is not a handicap. I was just wondering how tall he is. (Notice I said how tall he is and not how short he is.)

Ok, it says he is 5'5", which is still taller than me.

I hate it when people insult him for his height!!! Does it really matter? He's a great actor, and he has the greatest voice, and he's very attractive!

Well as a guy I can understand how annoying it can be when people make height jokes. Not that it's insulting, just becomes repetitive and you wonder if these people have better creative skills than a woodlice.

I guess from the media, fashion magazines etc all the things that 'inform' on us what the ideal traits are; whether big breasts, ultra slim body, toned muscles, tanned skin and the rest condition people to go for superficial qualities.

I've had it once where a girl was worried that I was shorter than her, although she was relieved when it turned out I was a little taller! Of course that's only one individual but there are many people who think like that and even treat you differently because of it.

He's a cool actor anyway, Lawless Heart, Gosford Park, Frank, Daniel & Laurence Meet Martha, POTC 2, Enigma etc. All impressive turns from him.

If impersonating a Police Officer is an offence, shouldn't actors be imprisoned?

I never actually noticed until I heard people talking how short he was. Who cares, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm short and wouldn't change it! Tom's great.
