Always Steals the Show

Tom Hollander has become one of my favorite actors--every role I see him in, he's always one of the most memorable moments in the film, even when he's only in one or two scenes.

A great example: in the John Adams miniseries, which is a series filled with fine acting and award-winning actors, one of my favorite moments in the whole series is when John Adams goes to England and meets with King George, played by Hollander. It's a brief encounter, but it's hilarious, and Hollander's George is phenomenal.

I haven't seen Hanna yet, but when I learned he was in it, I've decided I will (and I didn't realize Joe Wright directed).

Yay Tom Hollander!

I know this is an old post and hope you have seen Hanna since. He was actually my favorite character in the film. He definitely stole the show. Though I never bothered to look him up while watching the pirate movies. I will have to rewatch those.

How very true!

Good fans cannot speak appreciative enough of Tom's many fine accomplishments, sharp appearance, calm and soft-spoken voice, wealth of expressions, professional delivery and commanding screen appeal, so it's only fair to say that Tom Hollander steals the scenes if not the show because you just cannot get enough of his scenes when the camera moves alongs its lonely way elsewhere.

Hey, even in completely terribly poorly-written and produced really very bad productions, like that horrid worse-than-bomb mess "Any Human Heart," Tom elevates the quality long enough to miss him for the duration and make you wish that you would have kept it off before his scenes, and turned it off immediately after, and fastforwarded through the wonderful and amazing Gillian's worst performance ever.

That's how great Tom Hollander's acting really is because the rest of the show really sinks into nothingness when the focus drifts away from him.

Came to this page to say the same thing. It never fails, it does not matter how big or small his role is, he steals the scene every time. Brilliant, brilliant actor.
