Two of the best character actors are Tom Hollander and his American version Peter MacNicol. Both actors are 360 degrees versatile. I even mix them up as I thought that Tom Hollander appeared on VEEP this year. Nope that was Peter MacNicol who made me laugh out loud as he played Jonah's wrangler. Tom Hollander was in the movie "In the Loop" which is the movie that started the transition from "The Thick of It" to "V.E.E.P." Armando Iannucci took his brash, profane, hysterical diatribes of Peter Capaldi as Malcolm Tucker to another bent civil servant, Selina Meyer played by the angelic Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The missing link between that connects the two series is Anna Chlumsky. Anna was either sleeping with or screwing over the pre-war council where Peter Capaldi and James Gandolfini almost do battle.
