I think it's because he doesn't get the greatest material on Teen Wolf, but when he does I think hes a really good actor.

Yes, he is. I think he does a very good job with Derek Hale. Ironically, I have not seen Road to Perdition but, plan to see it. I think he has range. I watched Seventh Heaven, and I think his early work on there was good, his last few seasons his character was not so great, so it was hard to get to the acting but, I think Tyler is a good actor. Also, he seems to get work often, and stay on a show for a period of time and I think this would be harder to do if an actor is just eye candy. So yes, he is a good actor. I think he does need a role with deeper stuff but, he is young and will get to that. To be a working actor is difficult to do in Hollywood.

I think he was good enough as Derek Hale, but the character doesn't ask much beside grumpy eye_candy.
Hard to know how good he really is but compared to the average tv actor, boy should have a decent enough career.

I think he has a great presence on screen and not just because he's gorgeous. He is great at expressing his feelings. He can tell you everything with just a look. It's when he opens his mouth and say dialogue it sometimes falls flat imo. If he works on his delivery he could become a A-lister imo.

I think he can progress (a lot).
He was quite meh in the first season of Teen Wolf but improved in seasons 2, 3 and 4.
Several serious movie critics said he is excellent in Everybody want some.
So, I hope the best for him cause he's a real nice guy.
He'll perhaps never get an Oscar (many won't anyway) but he has enough talents and looks to keep working.

Pretty much every thing he's done since RTP has been mediocre to steaming pile of turd. If he got a role in a decent film that's when you could actually judge his level with some degree of accuracy.
