Did he ever apologize or admit that he was wrong?

Not that it redeems him but was he ever really sorry for his actions?

reply

He gave Oprah an interview where he kind of apologized. But it seemed very insincere.

reply

He was probably only there for the free Volkswagen.

reply

he said germany didnt deserve him, before he shot himself. totally self absorbed guy

reply

Well as badly as the Germans behaved maybe they didn't deserve him, but it's a close call.

That's three questions so:

1. Did he ever apologize : not that I know of. Excuses were not popular as today;
2. Did he admit that he was wrong ? Never heard of it;
3. Was he ever really sorry for his action ? I'm/was not in his head but probably not.

reply

Not an apology but I believe I've read somewhere that he didn't like hearing the details of the camps and exterminations and so on. So it leads me to believe that he had some level of conscience at least but saw it as a necessary evil I guess. I've also read that he wanted to send the Jews to Madagascar or Palestine but for whatever reasons that didn't work out.

reply

Hitler, being the complete megalomaniac that he was, did not have any conscience whatsoever.

He fought his enemies right up until the moment that he killed himself, and he only did that because he knew that he had no chance of winning the war. Right up until the last moments of his life he was sending troops to fight against the allies. At the end when he was so short on troops he began sending children into battle. He didn't have time or a chance to say that he was sorry, and I am fairly certain that even if he had lived he wouldn't have been sorry in the slightest. I am going to say this, and I do not mean to sound like a jerk, but you need to do yourself a favor, and open up a history book.

Yep left a suicide note that read:

Bye and soz about that World War/genocide stuff. My bad.

reply

I wouldn't understand it if he did.

Me no speeekee German.

I looked up info on him and his father abused him and his mom would try her best to protect him but to no avail. His father was married twice and had 3 other kids before marrying Adolph's mother. Also it seems his father did better himself later.
After his brother Edmund who he was close to died of Measles, Adolph became more and more hateful of his father and mother. He also rejected a lot of their morals they believed in. From what it says on wikipedia he left them and got involved with the people who would form the Nazi party. And his parents were really upset about that.

So just from that it does seem his brother's death was such a burden to him that he changed as a person. Had his brother Edmund not died and if his father hadn't been abusive to him, he may not have become such a horrible person.
