I've only seen him in into the wild and thought he was fantastic and would like to watch more of his movies.
Tell me what you guys would suggest and put it into a top 5 list
Well the movies that I have seen with him are "The Girl Next Door", Alpha Dog"' and Lords of Dogstown" all of which are pretty good. Especially Alpha Dog...It's one of my favorite movies. Justin timberlake also stars in it. He is good actor as well.

My favorite performances of his, not in order;
Into the Wild; simply great
Lords of Dogtown; also based on a real story, pretty good movie too
Lone Survivor; smaller part though as Mark Wahlberg kind of steals the show
Twice Born; this movie was mostly overlooked but I really loved it, especially Hirsch is fantastic in this, very powerful performance
Prince Avalanche; more of a comedy, but I still liked it, Hirsch and Paul Rudd together make quite the fun duo
He was good in "Imaginary Heroes" but the movie was a sub-par version of Ordinary People.

He was funny in Taking Woodstock. Small part but great movie. Based on the memoirs of Eliot Tiber who's parents owned a motel off the Nys thruway during "Woodstock".
