Why does she use the middle initial?

It's so people don't confuse her with all the other Taraji Hensons in the phone book. 

She could be related to another Taraji Henson and use the middle initial to let people know which is which. I use my first initial and middle name because I share first names with my father.

Yes, having a relative with the same first and last name is possible, but Taraji using her middle initial in her screen name is unnecessary unless there had already been another actor in the screen actors guild who had the same first and last name, which is unlikely...though you never know.

I think done people use their middle initial in their screen name because it may sound better or flow better with the middle initial. It may be why some actors use their full middle name when is not necessary.

I agree that she should leave it out. Initials always sound awkward to me and like you said, she won't be confused with another actress, but before anyone jumps down my throat, I know it's her right to do as she pleases.
