That's not the reason. It's all about money to the greedy bastards. They don't make enough money off the added service. Like Amazon can't fricking afford to take a little hit on their bazillions of dollars to make their loyal IMDB followers happy.

I really hope that getting rid of the boards hurts them in the long run. I won't use the site any more. They could have did something instead of just shutting the boards down. They could have offered the boards for a charge and see if they had enough takers. Maybe give it a year to see what happens. I'd gladly pay 25 bucks a year or even 5 bucks a month. That's what, a cup of coffee at Starbucks or a soda at the AMC. I'm not sure what IMDB PRO costs but they could have offered the boards if you sign up for that if it's not too expensive.

This is my favorite site on the internet. I am in here everyday and can read comments for hours. I'm disabled so I watch a lot of TV and movies from my recliner on my $5,000 80 inch TV. If your going to be a couch potato you got to do it right, lol. I love watching a movie or show and then discussing it. It makes my movie/show experience so much better. I see plenty of others feel the same. Adding a small charge might keep a few of the trolls out also. There isn't anything like it anywhere otherwise it wouldn't be such a big deal. Hopefully someone comes up with something like it in the near future.
