shareI don't think it's a moderator's responsibility to curtail conversation generally, even if they stray to the juvenile (for the record, I'm not a big fan of that type of discussion myself). If you dislike the discussion, just avoid it. Or better yet, start a mature one of your own. Between Joan on Mad Men and YoSafBridge on Firefly, Christina Hendricks is a brilliant character creator, so I'm sure you could find something interesting to use as a catalyst to shift the conversation to something more palatable for yourself.
This bears repeating, apparently: the answer to bad speech is more speech, not less.
I wish it were that simple, but as you can see from the subject lines of many of these posts, the idiocy far outweighs the intelligent around here and some good housecleaning by moderators could cure that real quick. I mean, heck, you can just read a subject line and see that it violates the so-called rules here right off the bat.
