I've never aligned with the left or the right. When I was younger I was told that the right were a bunch of racists and bigots and I believed it. As time has gone on I've realized a lot of things that have made me think different.

If someone wants to cut down illegal immigration, they're called racist. If someone believes it's possible to be racist to white people, they're called racist. If someone doesn't like the way Muslims treat women, they're considered xenophobic. If someone believes that abortion is murder, people say that they don't support women's rights. If someone believes that transgenders deserve to be treated equal but do not feel that they're the gender they transitioned to, they're called transphobic. If you don't date someone who is transgender, again they're called transphobic.

The problem isn't that conservatives are racists or bigots, it's that liberals have a problem with understanding nuance. Having said that, I'll still never align myself with the left or right.

It's not a "white power hand gesture". It means "okay". Anyway, that's what normal people with functioning brains have understood it to mean for many decades, maybe even centuries.
