Her New Life As an Enclosed Benedictine Nun

The current occupation of Dolores Hart, was probably the biggest shift of biblical proportions in the history of Hollywood! In 1963, she stunned tinsel town and her fans, by announcing she was giving up her $50,000 a movie job as an actress at that time, to become an enclosed Benedictine nun, in the community of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Connecticut. Today she is known as Mother Dolores, having made final vows in 1970. In recent years, she has given more interviews, largely on the Eternal Word Television Network, and become a voting member of the Academy of the Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, the first time ever to a member of a religious order. She maintained friendships with former co-stars, and was in part responsible for Patricia Neal's conversion to Catholicism, shortly before she passed away in 2010.
