Miscast in 'City of Bones'

Does anyone else feel he was miscast in "City of Bones?" Nothing against him as an actor, I quite enjoyed him as the villain in "Sherlock Holmes." As a fan of the books, I just envisioned someone else playing Hodge. Someone maybe slightly overweight who appears more weak, soft-spoken and almost pathetic in nature. Hodge's character reminds me of the character from HP who was the Potters Secret Keeper but betrayed them.
