I was introduced to Tom Hardy in this movie with Gerard Butler. It. Is. Out-loud. funny. His character is gay and he is sex on a stick. Boy, has he come a long way. GREAT movie with Idris Ilba, Tom Wilkinson, Tandy Newton, Mark Strong (sexy), Jeremy Piven, Ludicris, a wonderful cast.
It is worth a watch.
I won't say how many times I have seen this movie. I am probably overdue for a fix.
I will admit being a fan of Snatch and Lock Stock and Smoking Barrel I had to watch RnR a second time to totally get it and I find each time I watch it I see different things and I still find the jokes just as funny.
Ritchie wrote a trilogy but the lack of box office success of RnR in the US [for reasons I do not understand - I know so many people who love the movie and say how did we miss it in the theatres - ask Warner Brothers] the likelihood of the second movie was already slim and now the cast might be too expensive and busy esp Elba, Hardy and Strong.
And this is the movie where I discovered Mr. Hardy.
RocknRolla has grown in stature over time. The success that Tom is enjoying also plays a part in that.
RnR isn't as hyperactive as Lock and Snatch and the film going public were put off. It hasn't reached the absolute classic status of LA Confidential but it's getting there. LA also did poorly at the box-office, Titanic played a large role in that.
I just watched RockNRolla tonight, and I was surpised by how much I liked it, seeing I wasn't the biggest Guy Ritchie fan, Tom Hardy is fantastic in it! and so stinking sexy! Kind of sad I wait this long to watch it as Tom is my all time favorite actor. I'm running out of films of his to watch.
shareTom has always maintained that Michael Fassbender was the superstar of his acting class. But what Tom isn't saying has more weight.
Once part of the cast of Band of Brothers, Fassi put the word in to his recruiter Tom Hanks that he should have a look at this Hardy kid. That segued into his current partnership with Ridley Scott.
So far the two Tom's haven't made a film together, hopefully that changes in the near future.
Well good on Fassbender and yes Hanks and Hardy would be great because Mr. Hanks picks decent projects for the most part for sure.
I guess Mr. Hardy will be returning from his vacay in Antigua since the news is out that filming with Styles, Hardy and Murphy begin on Dunkirk next week. All the Styles fans are a-twitter about it literally and figuratively. Now Styles has been filming not sure if they are moving to a new location though for next week's filming.
What is it bout handsome bob that the ladies love? What was so sexy about him?
