Plays the same....

Awkward character in everything that he does. People that might like Dexter would think he's a great actor cause because they like the show, but in reality, he's not a good actor. He needs to get rid of that awkward Dexter typecast weirdo he has going. He's just too wooden.

Yeah but I guess this is just the way he is in real life, the guy can't help it.

He is a fantastic actor. He does NOT always play the same character. He didn't play a murderer with almost no emotions in Six Feet Under. He played a gay undertaker with a black boyfriend. Also, he played a transgender rock goddess on Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

omg i agree carrie, i watched six feet under first and i always thought of michael, as david, completely different than michael, as dexter. i never found david attractive at all, but dexter was HAWT!~ that's a pretty good actor that can use their skills to turn you off or on.

reply

anni_boo, I always thought he was attractive on Six Feet Under, but as Dexter....OMG!...SO HOT!!

reply

I wouldn't say he's a bad actor or anything, but he does speak with that same monotone in every role I've ever seen with him. Dexter, Six Feet Under, JL: Gods and Monsters, etc.

"In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming".

reply

Yes! His delivery is always the same, whether he's a gay funeral director or a serial killer.

He was amazing in Gamer! The dance he did in the end of the movie was fantastic!

reply

I disagree. He's a great actor, who even when Dexter (the show) got mediocre, his performance was still sharp/spot on.
