Great Role: Sharon Mitchell

I believe a challenging role for Rachel would be to portray Sharon Mitchell, the American adult film actress who against all odds actually amounted to something after toiling in XXX movies for years.

Rachel doesn't "look like" Mitchell any more than she looks like all the actresses mentioned on these boards (Juliette Lewis, Juliette Binoche, etc.), but with her flawless American accent and ability to transform her appearance I think she could pull off this difficult assignment. There haven't been many serious attempts to deal with the porn industry other than BOOGIE NIGHTS and the Val Kilmer picture, but a talented scriptwriter could easily fashion a Mitchell biopic that also commented on the dangers & shortcomings of this segment of the entertainment business.

Intriguing suggestion. I happen to think Michelle Williams could do well in a Tracy Lords biopic, or at least a portion of her biography that covers her exposure as a minor to how she reinvented herself.

I do not understand the relevance of an "American accent". Why do you call it an "American accent"? It is no accent.

I know that Rachel Griffiths was born in Australia and originally had an accent but most actresses were born in America. Now please do not call me prejudice or anything like that, certainly there are many actresses from other countries, especially Canada. The majority of actresses in American films are from America. Sharon Mitchell is an American so I do not understand the relevance of an "American" (no) accent.

Sharon Mitchell is an amazing woman. She is one of the adult performers that impressed me when she was doing that. It is impressive that she is now a real doctor. I hope that whatever actress portrays Sharon Mitchell has a nose like Sharon Mitchell's that gives her such a beautiful voice. Rachel Griffiths has a normal nose.

Everybody who speaks has an accent, including Americans.

Since the topic here is someone to play the role of Sharon Mitchel and since Rachel Griffiths currently speaks using the same pronunciation as Sharon Mitchel, it is not an accent. The pronunciation is the same for most people living in the majority of America. Certainly some people in America, such as people in Brooklyn and some people in the "South" speak differently than people in the rest of the country and therefore they have an accent compared to the majority of people.

The word accent means saying something differently. There has got to be something that is not the accent way of pronunciation.
