Rachel Griffiths and Juliette Lewis are so similar . . .

You know I agree with you- they are very similar. I couldn't figure out why I find RG so irritating and when I saw this post I realized why- I can't stand JL, or at least her as an actress. As I don't know either one, I can just comment on both of them as I see them in their roles and I find all the characters they play for both of them really annoying.

Sometimes very good actresses do a great job at playing unsympathetic characters in a supporting role so, they often play someone you don't like. For many years Renée Zellweger played parts that made me not like her until I saw her in Miss Potter. Then I liked her. Renée Zellweger is just a great actress weather she is playing a likable character or an unlikable character.

Juliette Lewis often plays characters that men like but women don't like and Rachel Griffiths often plays characters that men like and women like to identify with.

It's a coincidence that someone posted to this thread in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, my wife and I watched The Rookie (2002) again on DVD. Rachel Griffiths truly was lovely in this movie. It was great to see her again in film. She looked like true-blue Texas-blood in this particular part. The Rookie (2002) was a great movie with authentic scenes of Texas.

When I was watching the film: Muriel's Wedding, I thought she was a young Amanda Plummer! 😁

Seems you beat me by almost a decade. I was going make a post calling her a "poor man's" Juliette Lewis. I can't agree that they're doppelgangers though but they do have similar looks.
