**an absolutely outstanding actor**

I have seen him in films before (snatch etc) but in 'this is england' I was blown away by his acting. I really hope he gets all the recognition he deserves

Outstanding supporting actor, he plays his roles so powerfully that you can't help but notice him. Very very solid actor.

He was great in Jimmy McGovern's "the street" series, playing an alcoholic who realizes he has a teenage son with Down syndrome. He can be convincingly thuggish, has a lived-in face and also a cheeky smile. I heard he might costar with Paddy Considine in "king of the gypsies" as bareknuckle fighters

Couldn't agree more with the OP. The scene in Snatch where he believes the pikeys are going to kill him: great bit of acting without any dialogue to support him. Excellent talent.

I'd have to agree, this guy is fantastic. Just saw him in Doghouse and Public Enemies. He was brilliant. Hope he gets an international career seeing as his acting is of such a high calibre. Good luck to him, he deserves it.
