He turned down Joker because he didn't want to commit to sequels. So he'd have be a one-off character. Which would likely mean villain who dies.

It would have been interesting to see Gosling's portrayal of The Joker, but I am satisfied with Leto taking on the role. He seems to be more committed and devoted to the character.

I think Gosling was genuinely interested but understood that it was going to take more than just being interested. The Joker role is so iconic and has so much weight to it, it had to take full on commitment.

With that said, I hope he plays a villain of some sort in the DC Universe. For a while I thought he'd make a good Flash.

Wish he was more open to superhero roles, he'd be the definitive live action Barry Allen man.

Agree, he could play Flash (if they fire Ezra) or Green Arrow.

Maybe he could play a villain against Ben's Batman. Someone like the Riddler?

Gosling should be in the Marvel comic movies. At least the critics and fans like Marvel over DC comic book movies.

If he were to be in a DC Film, I'd wouldn't mind seeing and Green Arrow or maybe Nightwing.
