Reasons why Matthew Goode is adorable.

A topic that I feel NEEDS to be discussed. I have loads of reasons but will add them later.

Oooo maybe just one. He spent his first pay cheque on buying a Paul Smith suit so he could take a new girlfriend on a date to the opera. Told you - adorable.

Great thread. I will add more as they come to mind... To start off:

He's adorable because he looks great both scruffy and unkempt (Leap Year), and dressed up and clean cut too (Match Point, Stoker, Good Wife).

Agreed - but scruffy wins for me.

I will add two things - his eyebrows. They were the undoubted stars of Leap Year. They should have their own series on TV.

And this is where I get creepily, restraining order required, specific - he has this 'tell' when he is uncomfortable or playing for time - he rubs his right eyebrow with the back of his right index finger and that's why his right eyebrow is never so manicured as his left.

Oh for god's sake - how sad is it that I know that?!

And don't get me started on his eyes...

This should really have been the first reason. He is damned funny. Let's face it if a man can't make you laugh then there really is no point to him.

Just go to Heckyesmatthewgoode and search 'quote machine' and you will see what I mean.

He is like a posh Tigger. I have definitely posted this interview before - but he really is funny - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_D6eAM85kMb.

He doesn't ever grow up - see this from September - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klbvkD1Sl_k Yep - still like Tigger.

Wish he'd do more comedy. Adorable.

OK - well I'm just going to keep going with this one until someone sends the people in the white coats or takes over.

He met his wife (now official at last) in a properly rom com way. This is from an interview with the Scottish Herald :-

The missus is called Sophie. How did they meet? "She was sitting on my doorstep when I came home from filming in Poland or somewhere. That's a good few years ago. She was best friends with my neighbour Emily in Clapham. She'd locked herself out. I was a bit flustered and quite tired. The way I remember it I opened the door and carried her bag up. But apparently I shrugged my shoulders, didn't speak to her, opened the door but didn't carry her suitcase upstairs."

She didn't hold it against him. "We got together at Emily's wedding and we've lasted longer than that marriage."

His happiness, he says, is wrapped up in his partner's happiness now. If he had his way he wouldn't need to go far from home to work.

Cute. Every time he talks about her he just lights up and they always seem so sweet together when they are photographed.

I know a lot of obsessive fans (like me) can be a bit ambivalent about the object of their affection's spouse. Not me. He's besotted - good luck to them.

Yeah - still going here. When I get to stories about Maggie the dog - please shoot me.

Another one - he likes to dance. The reason why I find this adorable is that most english men make a beeline straight for the bar rather than dance. They have to be dragged to the floor kicking and screaming even for the last grindy slow dance. Apparently not so with Matthew. While filming Stoker he took Mia Wasikowska dancing every saturday night to get away from the dark material they had been filming all week. "Matthew Goode and I would go off dancing at a honky-tonk in Nashville called Robert’s Western World. It’s the kind of place where everyone’s up dancing, grandparents alongside young people" (Source : Evening Standard and other papers). and from a syndicated interview -
"Apparently, you and Matthew Goode had some fun when you were not working…
Yes. I loved him. We just had such a fun time, especially as the film was so serious. It was good to have somebody around who was a riot and who was completely silly when we weren’t filming. We had a ritual on every Saturday night of going to hit up the honky-tonk bars, because we were shooting in Nashville. We would do our rounds of a couple of the little honky-tonk bars where they had country music playing and dancing so that was always fun. It was brilliant. We ripped it up".

Would love to have been a fly on that wall.

Of course she doesn't say anything about the quality of his dancing. As a very tall guy with big feet it's surprising that he's avoided looking like a giraffe on ice when he has had to dance in films. Maybe he's OK then.

Gotta love a guy who dances.

Anyone reading this stuff? As a Matthew Goode addict it's cathartic to write this down anyway. Why pay for therapy?

OK - this one will reveal me as the truly shallow person that I am - he's tall. I like tall men - who wants to live in flats? He's 6' 2" but looks taller coz he's all legs, feet and neck. Most actors are disappointingly pocket sized when you see them off screen. Elijah Wood was on breakfast telly this morning - lovely, sweet guy but a pixie. See what I mean? Shallow.

SOO funny that he was auditioned for Bilbo Baggins - he must have done it for a bet. An interviewer from the telegraph reported "As he is the first to admit, he’s not an obvious choice – ‘Look at the size of me for Christ’s sake!’ "

Anyway - I like the fact that you'd have to stand on a box to look into his gorgeous blue eyes. A chance would be a fine thing.

Just for Mrs Cavill.

He is adorable because he is not afraid to embrace his inner Zoolander. He has done a lot of modelling for various labels. There are some really beautiful, some funny and some just plain weird photos from modelling shoots on 'Heck Yes Matthew Goode' - just search 'photoshoot' and then take a look at 'ridiculous poses' - he really will do anything in front of a camera.

Here is the video of a photoshoot where he goes for the full Zoolander - http://vimeo.com/9160118 . His shoot is from 1.13. He seems to be in training for his role in Stoker. WHAT is he doing with that tie? He does take his shirt off though - so when I first saw this I was like - why are you stopping at the shirt??? Beautiful man.

Henry Cavill comes after him on this video - so enjoy Mrs C.
