Cameo in Amores Perros

Has anyone else noticed his cameo in this? He plays one of the editors working with Daniel. He's only in the movie for like ten seconds, and despite this being just a bit more than a Hitchcockian cameo, I've found nothing on the internet about it and wanted to know if anyone has noticed it.

Yes, he's one of the editors telling the guy on the computer what changes to make for the magazine cover shot for Andres. He's telling the guy to raise the image, to lower the font, etc. Back in 2000 when I first saw the film, I didn't know it was him, because I didn't know what he looked like. I found out years later and then duly went back to my DVD copy to watch that particular scene again. I love that film. I have watched it countless times since its inception of 17 years ago and I never get tired of it and I'm emotionally affected each time as I was when I watched it for the first time.

Since we're pointing out idiosyncrasies, I've always been fascinated by something that Iñarritu did on the last day of shooting for Amores Perros. I don't know if you've seen it, but the DVD contains extras, like behind the scenes stuff and such, and in one scene, they show Iñarritu and some of the actors and production crew wrapping up production for the last day of shooting and Iñarritu has everyone hold hands in a circle and everyone is holding a rose. He says a few words of gratitude and then he tells everyone that they will be tossing their rose into the air and that they will all be yelling "Abba" after doing so, but he gives no explanation for what "Abba" means nor for the symbolism behind tossing a rose into the air and throughout the years, this has always stuck with me. I have seen him dedicate some of his films to "Abba", you see it at the end with the end credits, like with The Revenant, I believe. I think "Abba" means father in Arabic and as such, I think he's alluding to a mystical, esoteric paternalistic concept of God. Iñarritu's films are very spiritual. The whole thing seemed like a religious ceremony or like some sort of ritual. The possibility of Iñarritu being a Rosicrucian has also struck me, because of the rose's inclusion in the ceremony.

Anyway, I've always been fascinated by it and I've never been able to find out anything on the web about it. Was wondering if you had any thoughts on this. Thanks.
