Accent in Preacher?

So glad they cast him in Preacher. Really liked him in Misfits and Lockout. Why not stick with his normal accent? Can't really stand Irish accent and don't think it is that good of an attempt.

I love an Irish accent but I was hoping they would stick with Joe just speaking the way he does, too. His Irish accent just kind of speeds up the way he normally talks, which is already fast to me. But Cassidy's back story has to do with Ireland and war and is kind of specific and I guess they chose to stick with it...

I think his accent is spot on, to be honest I was sceptical about him being able to do it so well. Irish accents can be tricky to master as an actor and not getting it right I think is very noticeable, so, well done joe.

No worries. I guarantee you you will never hear an accent like that in Dublin and I'm speaking as someone who has lived there over three years and been all over - mostly just passing through the northside, mind you (them being murdering gangsters 'n all).

I know the actor and still came on here to double check he wasn't actually Irish! His accent is superb and the reason it doesn't sound like a Dublin accent is because it isn't, it's a Cork accent.

His accent is spot on

And I lived in Cork for most of the '90s. Not any kind of Cork accent.
