I don't know why...
...but I keep mixing this guy up with Piers Morgan. Is it the fact that they're both British, love to talk, are comedians, are on tv, and have similar looks?

Piers Morgan is not a comedian but a tabloid journalist turned tv personality. Ricky Gervais is a comedian/actor/musician. I'm not seeing the physical similarities, to be honest. Morgan is more clean-cut and posh.

Morgan is deliberately antagonistic, Gervais is actually very soft-spoken and polite in interviews (his characters are mad, though).
Morgan has very single-minded opinions (and boy does he love shoving them around), Gervais has nuance and thoughtful ones.
I mean, I could go on and on...
To be fair Gervais can be quite aggressive in his Tweets - primarily at perpetrators of animal cruelty. But yes, he is a gentleman compared to obnoxious super-prick Piers Morgan.
I don't see any physical similarity between them, but I can't stand to look at Morgan's face so maybe I'm missing something.
I've just seen both Morgan and Gervais debate/discuss gun control. Morgan looks like a human fireworks display, just constantly exploding (to mostly little effect) while Gervais states his point and listens to the other person. Morgan never listens - ever.
shareAbsolutely. Piers Morgan will not listen to reason and has no time or respect for conflicting opinions. Absolutely despicable man. Gervais's act can come across as a little smug at times, but he always seems a generally reasonable man.
shareIt still was great when he banned himself from his own show, after banning so many other people for ridiculous reasons. I noticed he eventually had to quit American tv because his peers couldn't stand him after a while. Now about 5 people in Britain watch him at night when drunk.

Look on the bright side, they are both white so at least you won't get accused of saying they all look alike!
