he seemed annoyed and agitated post the monologue

I mean, when comparing his hosting previous appearances, it seems as if he was ticked off at something later in the show - he started reading strictly from the cue card - no more smiles - and the final farewell was way more hostile than anything he's done in the past.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks he might have gone off script in the monologue and was told off behind the scenes and perhaps threatened to not be paid his hosting fees if he goes off-script again? Either way - there's no doubt that something was off here.

He probably went into business for himself as it was the last time he would be hosting.

reply

Yeap. And chances are he'll be blacklisted from now on.

reply

Well he definitely won't be welcome in Hollywood anymore.

reply

He'll be "blacklisted" until some producer thinks he can make money by working with Ricky. The Mel Gibson "blacklist" lasted about 1.5 years, tops.

reply

I don't know what happened, but I am so glad he said what he said. Hopefully the fans he gathers from his monologue will help off set whatever may come his way in Hollywood.

reply

I noticed that, too. Not just reading the cards, but he did it in a way to let the viewer know those weren't his jokes and he was forced to read them.

reply

Give them more money! Give them a larger soap box!
