shareJust so weird since they don't look like the type to divorce. Maybe the wife is doing this so she doesn't have to divulge most of the wealth when they retire. They said they were going to give out 90%+ of their wealth away the pledge on philanthropy or some shit like that.

I imagine you get your news from the corporate media - where Bill Gates is widely accepted as being an expert in farming, medicine, computer technology, climate change, etc.
Please know that by far and large, billionaires tend to stick together. Please understand that mainstream media is now owned by a few individuals who are in that billionaire club. Stop eating up what they feed you. Apply logic and common sense to the publically known information. You do not double or triple your wealth while 'trying to give it all away', unless your attempts to give it all away were never earnest to begin with.
I suspect we are not just dealing with tax evasion - billionaires have enough money not to have to worry about that. We are dealing with fear - fear of revolution - fear of uprising of the masses against the uber rich. If you control the flow of information and news, you can control the mindsets of the sheep. More importantly, if you promise to give it all away, it minimizes the risk of an uprising by a big margin - that is the main purpose of the 'pledge'.

One thing is true - Bill's divorce is not being reported in a positive light these days - in fact, I see a lot of negative coverage of the Bill's past. I'm starting to think there's been some sort of falling out in the billionaire club - Bill is no longer protected or endorsed, ever since the divorce filings came out.

It also seems like it was very strange arrangement to begin with, their is a story out where Bill had gone on a one week vacation each year with his first girlfriend even after he got married to the current wife... and no, she isn't a step up from the one he married, she's uglier and 5 years older than Bill compared to the current wife that is 10 years younger than Bill. So basically Bill is one weird motherfucker... if you have that much money and want to fuck around on your wife at least have the decency to fuck around with hotter women not even uglier older ones that look like your mother.
