Alan in the hangover trilogy's personality

I'm not slagging the guy off in any way and maybe I'm wrong but did anyone else think that his character Alan in the hangover trilogy had autistic traits?

I don't know but they screwed the character up in the sequels. He was a loveable loser in the first movie but went full blown nut job in 2 and 3
