Agree. Just saw the first episode and it just deleted itself from my record list.

The violent death of a sitcom character would be unthinkable on most shows. On this show it would be an improvement.

"All in the Family"/"Archie Bunker's Place" did it. And it wasn't the first either.

"The Real McCoys" also had the wife who was a long-time regular on the show die.

And "Make Room For Daddy" (aka)"The Danny Thomas Show") had the long-time first wide on the show die in a violent car crash.

And iirc, "Hogan's Heroes" had some violent deaths on it.

However, none of those were long-time regulars or even regulars on the show, iirc.


I don't quite remember if "Get Smart" did or not.

Even kids shows and kids cartoons that were basically animated sitcoms had some violent deaths on them like the one where BOTH the big bad wolf AND Little Red Riding Hood get blown up and die.

And that was a made for tv cartoon from either the 1950's or 1960's.

I think from the 1960's. And it was a Saturday morning cartoon.
