Brilliant actor - funny or straight.

I came looking on his profile for a film which I haven't seen, with him in it.
Loved him in Fargo and Sherlock! I would like to see him approach a more villainous role. If you do have any recommendations where he might have done so, feel free to let me know!
Here's hoping he has a lot more lined up for 2016.

He played an assassin in Wild Target but it's a comdey so it's not a serious villian, though he's definitely nasty. And great fun.

reply

Yes! I liked Wild Target as well, I'd forgotten about that! Thanks, may watch again

Love to see him as a villain! He is a brilliant actor. He sort of played a slimy character in Fargo but not really a villain.

I feel his character was more an accidental villain, born out of desperation and perhaps some sort of psychotic break. Not that it excuses his behaviour of course, he just wasn't able to deal with confrontation and finally blew a gasket. I felt both frustrated yet sympathetic toward his continual, fumbled efforts to equalise the sinking ship he clung to.

He is amazing, love him

Men Only (2001) is a bit hard to watch if you want to see Martin in a villain role.

He is great and a joy to watch. I think he was the best thing about The Hobbit trilogy. He is a busy working actor, and a part of me is envious of him however he has been working a lot longer in the industry than I have, so he deserves all the success he is getting. :)

Always look for the positive in every situation.
