Can't stand her voice

She speaks in such a staccato clip, as if every syllable is forced out of her with a blow to the back. Perhaps it's because her English accent is learned, perhaps it's just how she naturally talks. In Breaking Bad (best show ever) I prayed that her character got killed off even though the character itself pushed the story forward. Then I saw her again on Law & Order SVU - same thing. I just can't listen to her.

I liked her voice pattern in BrBa. I heard her speaking on a few of the commentaries, her actual voice has a normal cadence to it.

Dude! It was perfect for her character! Lydia was such a neurotic wreck.

Exactly! I think it added to the character.

Why is there so many negative people on this site?

Probably cuz IMDB isn't a fan site; it's a place where viewers can be honest in their opinions of the entertainment they watch.

We all see those puff pieces on Extra, TMZ, Access Hollywood, E!, etc., where it's all annoyingly fake butt kissing.

Not all entertainment we see is great and IMDB is a great place to discuss it all...both the good and bad.

I'm with you there. I'm rewatching BB and man...she's driving me insane!

I think there's something to her not being American. It's like she's overdoing everything. I get it...her character is supposed to be neurotic, anxious, nervous, scared...all those things, but it didn't work.

Of course, the show was such a well-oiled machine by the time she was on it, that it was still one of the all time best--despite her performance. I've yet to see a show with an absolute perfect cast (BB, The Wire, Sopranos, Mad Men came close),
so...it's understandable.

They get a pass on her.
