what happened to this dude?

he had another talk show i think (after Late late night)
and then MIA?

: (

reply

I personally didn't care for him. Glad he's gone.

For a while there he had some game show hosting gig on I think the game show network. One of them fly over cable channels. I have no idea if he's still doing that. He also just popped up on the Today show cause he wrote a book with Kathy Lee or something. They're doing some kind of project anyhow.

He's the last talk show host I watched with any regularity. I do find Conan amusing, but I would never put him on unless he was interviewing someone I wanted to see. Something about Ferguson though... it was probably the absurdity of his show. I love a good absurdity.

reply

same here. the first time i was flippin through channels i see this bastard holding a hand puppet and talking with it.
no band - no gimmicks.

LOL, i also loved that stupid cowboy theme song "tweets n emails"
today i tune in for Conan mostly.

He had Geoff the robot, the pantomime horse, the harmonica, it was really a good time. The guests never had any clue what he was going to do next. (Sometimes David Lettermen felt that way, but more in the early years.)

reply

yah i enjoyed watching the props and stuff kinda grow and add to the show over the years.
Geoff in the very early days was incredibly hilarious cause he only said like 3 words.

HE WAS GOOD ON THE DREW CAREY SHOW AND HIS LATE NIGHT SHOW...NO DOUBT...WHEN I HEAR HIS NAME THOUGH...MY MIND GOES STRAIGHT TO THE MOVIE HE WROTE,DIRECTED AND STARRED IN,THAT INTRODUCED ME TO HIM(PLUS ITS REALLY GOOD)...https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0325352/?ref_=nm_knf_i1

reply

I haven't watched late-night talk shows since they became political, but his was the last one I watched.

reply

He's done some voice work, stand-up shows, and last year he released his third book, Riding the Elephant: A Memoir of Altercations, Humiliations, Hallucinations, and Observations.

reply

He made his millions and is now semi-retired... at least when compared to having to host a talk show every evening for 7 months out of the year... from what I understand he never really wanted to be the host, he did his best (and was great at it) but it wasn't a true passion of his.

reply

Yeah he tried that game show..I guess he was trying to be a Merv Griffin type mogul..however, I don't think that show is on anymore so I wouldn't doubt if he tries to get back into the talk show game again.
