I feel like him and Matthew Lillard might be the two actors with the most disappointing careers. Disappointing because I'm a fan of both, but they both seemed intent on breaking their "mold" and trying to go against the grain.
They should have stuck to what they were doing in the late 90s/early 2000's. At least if they got typecast and carried on working, they would have gotten more screentime.
Look at Jason Mewes. He's done it.
I think that if he was still doing roles like in Can't Hardly Wait and Empire Records, he'd probably still be on drugs as well. I think the changes in roles he's trying and trying to stay clean are closely related.

Really? I disagree, I was a fan of his with his earlier roles in:
Dutch
All I Want For Christmas
A Far Off Place
But his later teenage roles were very disappointing Imo especially seeing him play that doofus role in Empire Records.
