A bit disappointed to know

that he cheated on his (now ex) wife of 7 years. He admitted to a one-night stand and that was reason she filed for divorce.
Now, I imagine most actors sleep around, especially with their co-stars, but it's still somewhat disheartening.

His ex-wife has since said it wasn't just because of a one night stand. Perhaps that incident simply facilitated a quick divorce? They used to set up such things back in the day for the same purpose. So please don't be put off by private circumstances we can't possibly know about. He's a thrilling actor giving us hours of entertainment; love, life and laughs. Enjoy :-)

It seems as though the majority of people in the entertainment professions have fairly messy personal lives, so I don't understand why this should bother you.

There is no way we can be privy to what was going on in their marriage; to make assumptions does no good.

If you're concerned about his character, I think the fact that he felt enough guilt to admit it publicly, when most celebrities would not, says something about his character, especially since such an admission in England gives the other party the upper hand in a divorce.

There's plenty of evidence that he's a good guy. No way to know if he has a wandering eye but he does seem pretty committed to his current girlfriend. People who work with him consistently say he's the nicest man on the planet, hardworking, humble and very, very kind. So maybe he made a mistake and who hasn't? We don't know the circumstances so to judge seems kind of pointless.

Personally, I like the example he sets. He's from a family of ministers and says he grew up with the kind of faith that emphasizes love, and he seems to have taken that to heart. He also grew up with 3 sisters and has 3 daughters so he seems to be pretty understanding when it comes to women. I think, for the most part, he's the kind of actor we can actually appreciate as a person, not just another adopted Hollywood persona.
