Compared being at comic con to genocide.

WTF is wrong with this guy? It's not enough that he's easily going to be the worst Lex Luther ever, he has to have such a crappy attitude too?

Shut up, who cares

Well it's no surprise that he doesn't like huge attention especially from screaming audiences. And let's face it, the scene of tons and thousands of people screaming in your face, even though they're fans, is sort of strange and intimidating. Having people scream in your face is not normal.. I don't care what people say. Jesse Eisenberg is a smart, funny, and sarcastic guy. I think he was trying to make a sarcastic joke of a situation he didn't like.
I met him after attending his play last May and he was extremely nice to all the fans and even had a few conversations with each of the fans that stayed to compliment the play and meet him - then again, none of us were screaming in his face..

Not liking thousands of people, fans or not, screaming in your face is completely understandable. Comparing it in any way to genocide is ignorant and makes him sound petulant and uneducated.

reply

Unfortunately, his choice of words make him seem ignorant. But that was not his intention. He tried to make a joke out of the situation that perhaps made him feel suffocated or uncomfortable.
After attending his play and meeting him I can say that he is extremely humble about his work and appreciative towards his fans. And besides the obscure setting of the loud environment of thousands of people gathered, I do not doubt that he enjoyed speaking at comic con.

Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And whatever you do, don't Blink. 🏦

I've always liked him and thought he seemed like an intelligent guy, funny guy. So yeah, I believe it was just a poor choice of words after an exhausting weekend. But it still sounds ridiculous. Lol

reply

Yeahhh .. I like the guy, but unfortunately you're right and it made him sound uneducated :/ and yep comparing it to a genocide is very ridiculous..... Ohhh Jesse  

I'm sure he realizes his ignorance now and he's probably beating himself up for it lol

Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And whatever you do, don't Blink. 🏦

Completely agree with all of this. I think Jesse has always had a very dry sense of humor that people take literally and I can see how that could make him come off as a jerk to a lot of people. There's no way to know what he was really thinking when he said it but I can't imagine him being serious, especially with he himself being Jewish. Hopefully he apologizes for his poor choice of words.

Susanf95:

While its ok to make excuses for someone you like and admire you really can't say you know their "intention." What he said comparing adulating fans screaming at him to people dying in genocide is beyond ignorant it shows very little real sensibility. Sometimes actors who become famous get so insulated and pampered that they can't related to real life. For anyone to make excuses for such moronic bad behavior only enables them to continue in such behavior. What he said was very wrong and no one should be a shill for it.
