What a BORING actor.
I've seen him in 3 films. Deadpan face. No voice inflection. No emotion. How does he have a career?

shareI've seen several of his films and I didn't see anything boring.
shareJesse Eisenberg's talent is not for everybody I guess.
He is the most interesting and smartest actor of his generation in my opinion.
Could not agree more. His presence in cinema is like staring at a rice cake.
shareI saw The End of the Tour yesterday, and he was a distraction with his flat, monotone delivery of the lines. My interest waned any time he talked for more than a few seconds, then was rekindled when Jason Segel spoke. I did like him in The Squid and the Whale. But he obviously can no longer play teenagers at this stage of his career.
yet many reviewers thought he was awesome in that piece.
well, different perspective i guess.
Like the OP, I've now seen him in a number of movies. I thought it was 100% Jesse and 0% his character. You have to do more than smoke cigarettes to get inside a role.
I disagree
I've first seen him in "Zombieland" (he was quite adorable), but not a fans yet until "Now You See Me". It was a pleasant surprise to find out it was actually the same person playing both Colombus & J. Daniel Atlas, two very different personas.
people said 1st impression was the most honest one coz at that time we dont have any bias.
Thus, in my oppinion Jesse is an impressive actor and 100% agree to Richard Ayodae's assessment about the him.
" I rarely follow actors, I follow directors more or writers, but I really would watch anything he (Jesse) was in. I thought I hadn’t seen anyone like him for a long time, he felt more like actors were in the 70’s, like Alan Alda or Jack Lemmon. He had that quality of being believably intelligent, and he’s one of those actors that doesn’t rely on physical transformation.
I think the rap he sometimes gets is that it’s always him, but I can’t think of two similar performances he’s given. It’s always different. But he does have that ability, which I guess is a movie star quality, of it feeling like him. And since these two characters had to look identical, I wanted someone who could internally animate them. He didn’t need those external signifiers. And he has this theatrical background and he has this ability to be able to repeat something infinitely.."
then again, it's a matter of personal taste.... but yet to say that he cant act is a little bit unfair bcoz many critics, have praised him (including his performance in "The End of The Tour")
