as to her statement that more celebrities should speak out, no they shouldn't. just sing, act or whatever, but SHUT UP!
Some folks think their "political opinions" are important, but, they are merely one more opinion and we aren't even close to running out of those.
She claims a degree in "Drama," which is fine for her career, but it does not give her any additional insight into political affairs.
There are political science degrees for folks who have an interest in the various types of government, the workings of government, the US Constitution (as compared to constitutions from other nations), history, economics, populations, government at national, state, county, and municipal levels, law creation and implementation, law enforcement, jails, prisons, and courts, campaigns and candidates, statistics and polling, and administration. When elected officials, government experts, academicians, or even political pundits give their political opinions, I may give them some attention. Why? Because they have education, experience, and areas of expertise that have some amount of credibility.
When an entertainer, or an athlete, give their political opinions, they have NOT spent 4 years in college studying the subject matter; they do not work in government, and are not associated in any way, so they have not the education, nor the hands on experience to form educated opinions. They "think" therefore they "think" they know something. Yet, they do NOT have the foundational knowledge necessary to have educated opinions, just garden variety that are purely personal and may not even be close to accurate.
Example: Colin Kaepernick has embarrassed himself, and his team, and his parents, by making pathetically ignorant statements, not based in fact, but only to the degree of misinformation that has attached to his brain. He has done ZERO studying, has conducted zero research, has zero foundational knowledge, yet he thinks he "knows" something, which, in his case is just plain wrong, since facts provide an opposite scenario and theory. And, to explain to him what is "wrong" with his statements, or his notions, or his understanding, we would have to go back to his entire educational process, which is NOT based in political science.
Lena Dunham, Cher, Madonna, Amy Schumer, John Legend, and others have been very insistent that they be "listened to" when they have zero information other than biased opinions that lack gravity, grace, or actual knowledge. In fact, I would not take plumbing advice from a butcher, I would not take electrical advice from a seamstress, I would not take medical advice from a landscaper, I would not take banking advice from a carpenter, I would not take legal advice from a football player, and I would not take political advice from an actor. These notions defy logic.
