Has he ever played a good guy? How about Superman?

Someone on another board suggested it, as a joke, but then I read it and actually consider it "not a bad idea".

For those more familiar with his acting, has he ever played a good guy? Or has he been 100% type cast as an *beep* He seems like a good actor, and it would be interesting to see him in a good guy leading role...

Heck, hes tall, muscular, dark haired, blue eye'd, and Wb is recasting Superman. Now that would be an oddball choice for casting, that would shock everyone!

Then again, that is what they did with perpetual good guy, Heath Ledger, and got a great joker. Could the reverse work as well?

How about Superman? Great idea!

Yes!!!! He would be the perfect superhero or just plain old good guy because he is such a great actor. Even his bad guy roles are so diverse.
I just want to see him more!

He is a babe, ain't he? lol He's had a few roles when he hasn't been an absolute bad ass but they've been few and far between. Three-toe on Greener Mountains, Jay Swopes on Touching Evil, Oshima on Big Momma's House 2, and Tree Lane on Mystery, Alaska. And I know in at least one of the CSI series he plays a good guy(can't remember which one though lol). I think he was an undercover cop or something.

I think he gets most of the bad guy roles just because of his stature. Stereotypically, if you were walking on the street and a 6 foot, 6 inch tall man came towards you, what would be your impression? His height is intimidating by itself lol not to mention the man is absolutely ripped! That's my opinion anyways ;) But I agree, it would be pretty awesome to see him rock the Superman character. I wouldn't miss it for the world!

I can hardly imagine him playing a good guy. It's the cold look in his eyes plus his voice that make him the perfect badass. Honestly, I wouldn't want to see him trying to hide this extraordinary talent.

I think you've got the roles mixed up. Oshima was a murderous thug. But don't forget his roles in Mob Princess, Robin Hood, Otis E and X men Origins. He wasn't the antagonist in any of them either.

Yeah, he's no Jason Statham! I'm sorry. I love the guy and all but his roles, whether good guy or bad, are all the same. Statham needs to try some diversity.
