There is a much greater market for english language films. I'm not saying he should not do french films anymore but the rest of canada is desperate for more talented filmmakers and he deserves a wider audience.

I'm not saying that he should do a film in English though, I think he should stick to what he is most comfortable with.
It's this mentality, this line of thinking that brings everything that is good and worth remembering to ruin. In cinema, ridiculously endless sequels and utterly unnecessary and most often shoddy "remakes" of otherwise good movies. Classic old school roleplaying games, for PnP or computer, being aped into abominations under pretend-modernisation and whatnot. There is always a greater market for everything. The question is, how much you are willing to sacrifice for money. And how it is too much for some people to read subtitles, I can not even fathom.
Should he make an English film? If that's what he feels like at any point, why not? But because "there's a much greater market for it"? Screw that.
Wait, did I say anything about remakes? No, I just though he should try his hand at an ORIGINAL english film so that more people can enjoy his talent.
Like it or not there are people who don't want to read subtitles when they see a film. I happen to be a slow reader so in trying to keep up with the subtitles I miss what's going on on screen.
Should he only do english films? No, just maybe try his hand at one or two to a larger audience. That is all I am saying.
Personally i wouldnt want an audience consisting of those who hate reading subtitles....Jus' saying.

If it's too difficult for people to read subtitles or find them distracting to the story, that's just too bad. Maybe it's time to improve your reading skills if you can't keep up.
As far as I'm concerned, the "larger audience" are the same people who want to be entertained by fart jokes, explosions, and cliché happy Hollywood endings. Dolan doesn't need to cater to that kind of crowd.
Perhaps you're right, lets make everyone who doesn't have the same skill sets as you "improve" them so they can bask in the intellectual superiority you rightly claim to have.
As far as I am concerned, you have no idea what you are talking about. If you think doing a film in another, more marketable language means it has to include all that nonsense you listed you are sadly mistaken...
