I think that Xavier has astounding potential as a director and I have loved all of his films so far. If I had to choose a favourite, though, I would go with Laurence Anyways. Some of the shots had such amazing metaphoric meaning and were shot so beautifully -- he handled this entire film very well. He has such depth and maturity for a person so young, and I can only hope he'll continue to grow and develop.

My favorite is Heartbeats. I really loved the stylistic approach.

So far, of everything he's directed, I've seen his first three features in chronological order of release.

Laurence Anyways is my absolute favorite... Such a beautiful film. A 10/10, imo. I love I Killed My Mother nearly as much. Anne Dorval is so very good in it. Finally is Heartbeats, which has some wonderful moments. I enjoyed it quite a bit, I just wasn't quite as crazy about it as the other two.

I was pleased that I loved Laurence Anyways as much as I did, considering I was slightly let down after not enjoying Heartbeats as much as I Killed My Mother. I love that he keeps using many of the same actors thoughout his films.

I can't wait to see Tom at the Farm, especially because it's Dolan tackling my favorite genre, Horror.

I saw Tom at the Farm and Mommy a few months back. Tom at the Farm was a little underwhelming, though definitely not bad. Mommy, on the other hand, was wonderful. Suzanne Clément is such a great performer.

I got to see Tom at the Farm in theaters when it was finally given a limited U.S. release a couple months ago. It had some great performances and suspense sequences going on, for sure. Overall, though, it was probably my least favorite of the four films of his I've seen.

For some reason, I had read several write-ups calling it a Horror film before I saw it. A Suspense-Thriller, sure, but I don't see how it's a Horror film exactly. And I'm someone who has used the tag of "Horror" pretty loosely in the past. For instance, I'd call Repulsion and Black Swan, Horror films, when others like to call them Psychological-Thrillers. That's not why the film let me down though. I adjusted my expectations halfway through, once I realized it wasn't Horror. Just in general the film didn't hit me like I Killed My Mother or Laurence, Anyways did.

I really want to see Mommy!
