What's with the empty lenses?

I preface this by saying I have nothing against Zooey Deschanel. I think she's talented, pretty and has made some pretty OK choices in her career.

But I gotta ask - is she worries she's looking too old or plump these days? To me, neither is true, but for some reason, she is wearing these frames with no lenses in them. Has anyone else noticed this? Does it bother anyone else? I really hate the stupid fashion statement made in the past few years by vacuous twits trying to look cool with empty frames when they don't need corrective lenses at all... I just hope she is not turning into one of those people.
