Torres and Damar

IMDb states it, I heard rumors but I don't have any proof. I heard once upon a time, before their time with Star Trek that Roxann Dawson (Star Trek: Voyager) was once upon a time married to actor Casey Biggs (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). Is this true? Do either of them speak of it at conventions? Are they still on speaking terms?

Any info would be great. Moreso to actually confirm so I can use it for one of my Star Trek trivia questions that they were actually married.

Roxann Dawson used to be credited as Roxann Biggs-Dawson. I always assumed Biggs was her maiden name but in this day and age, who knows.

Casey Biggs was her first husband, she was born roxann caballero and is currently married to casting director eric dawson.
It honestly makes no sense that she would have a hyphenated name of her first 2 husbands. I would have thought that normally the hyphen would be for a maiden name combined with the married name.
I think the reason for the hyphenated name between old husband and new husband is the the marriage to casey biggs (1988-1994) resulted in 2 daughters, one by her and the other being an adopted girl named mia from china.
She eventually dropped the hyphenated name.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that Dawson and Biggs has children together. That would make sence though as far as the hyphenated name though.

She has no children with Biggs. Check her bio here. Both the biological and adopted child were with Dawson. Professional women might use their maiden name if it's important that people recognize them from that (lawyers and doctors have reputations linked to the name recognition and a new one might be seen as a setback) but if they marry early enough in their career, actresses sometimes change or hyphenate. They often continue with the name of their husband if they've been using it for other work, even after divorce much for the same reason some women keep the maiden name. If producers and casting directors know the old married name, it's hard to change it unless you were well known by the maiden name at some point. I haven't checked but I believe Jeri Ryan's last name is her married name from her first marriage. People knew Roxann with the last name Biggs so she combined the two but after awhile they know the Dawson part long enough that she just dropped the old one.
